Devilish Shrimp Bisque

4 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound raw peeled and deveined shrimp, cut in half
lengthwise (I've used frozen, raw shrimp if I can't get fresh raw)
4 green onions, chopped
1/2 jar Newman's Medium Salsa (or other salsa of your choice)
1/2 cup cream sherry
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. Cayenne pepper or to taste
salt and pepper to taste

In large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.  Add flour, stirring until thoroughly combined and lightly browned.

Reduce heat. Add milk, stirring until smooth and creamy. (Add more milk if mixture becomes too thick.)  In saute pan, heat olive oil.  Add shrimp and chopped green onions.  Saute until shrimp are just barely opaque.  To milk mixture, add shrimp mixture, salsa, sherry and Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.  Heat until bubbling.

Serve immediately with hot rolls or warm garlic toast.
